Welcome to Falmouth Boat Construction Limited, we are always pleased to see new faces. We hope you find our website informative and easy to use. Should you require information, please use our enquiry form on this site. This form is submitted directly to our Yard Manager Mr Owen Taylor who has been with us since July 2003. His knowledge of boats of all types and sizes is quite extensive and sure to answer your query. The first people you are likely to speak to by telephoning will be either Mrs Emma Cook or Miss Kate Gough; they are our receptionists, administrators and Customer Accounts department, all rolled into one. Emma has been with us since October 2001, and Kate since December 2004, both are glad to take your calls and try to help in any way possible. Also in the office is Mr John Cox, John has been with us since August 1990, and is our Purchase Manager. Our supplier's accounts are his responsibility, and with this in mind he works closely with Emma, Kate and Martin Endsor our Storeman. Last but by no means least are Mr Bernard Bagley and Mrs Elizabeth Bagley who not only own the company but are Directors too. Bernie originally came to Falmouth Boat Construction, which was part of the Tufnol industries group in 1988 as the Yard Manager. As time passed Falmouth Boat Construction became more independent from the Head Office in Birmingham and Bernie became the Managing Director. In 2002 Mr & Mrs Bagley bought Tufnol out and Falmouth Boat Construction became part of Bagley Marine Ltd.
Since 2002 there have been many fantastic changes around the yard, all to improve the surroundings and efficiency of the business. The improvements started with the old Dry dock being filled in to make more hardstanding for winter lay-up. Soon after the buyout, the location of the offices was not only moved but refurbished and then began a huge relocation of the stores, the electrical workshop, the brokerage, and the customers lock up stores. With the purchase of four 20ft containers, the staff of Falmouth Boat Construction now has a new tearoom, the customers have the opportunity to hire a secure lock up and the RNLI have a new store.
We regularly take part in training programs for existing tradesman such as, Paint Application and Young Shipwrights training. Recently a few employees refreshed their Health and Safety Executive training.
We have a highly skilled committed work force, for which no job is too big or indeed too small. We welcome new working methods, however, we are also adept in the more traditional ways of undertaking a job. We are continually striving to improve not only the boat yard surroundings, but also our service and skills. We are sure you will find your Falmouth Boat Construction experience efficient and of the highest standard.
